TRIO is a set of federally-funded college opportunity programs designed to motivate and support first generation, low-income, students with disabilities and veterans in pursuit of a college degree.
Since its establishment by Congress in 1965, TRIO has served over 850,000 students in more than 2,800 TRIO programs across the country. Arizona State University is home to nine Federal TRIO Programs including four pre-college programs for high school students and veterans and five college programs for ASU Students.
The Talent Search, Upward Bound pre-college programs inspire and assist participants with improving academic and personal skills as they prepare for college. Supporting ASU undergraduate students with achieving academic and career success, Student Support Services college programs provide academic support, mentoring, financial guidance, career and professional development.

TRIO Talent Search is a federal pre-college program developed to provide academic and support services for first-generation and/or low-income students interested in seeking higher education with the goal of earning a college degree. Enrollment in the program offers unique and enriching academic, social, cultural and college preparation activities.
