FAFSA, Scholarships & Planning for the Year Ahead
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for students planning to attend college in the 2026–2027 academic year. Completing the FAFSA early is one of the best ways families can maximize financial aid opportunities, including grants, scholarships and work-study programs.
ASU’s FAFSA priority date is January 15 each year. Submitting the form by this date ensures your student receives full consideration for the widest range of aid available. Many need-based scholarships also require a completed FAFSA — and some have deadlines that fall even earlier.
Key reminders for families:
- Submit the FAFSA by Jan. 15 to maximize financial aid opportunities at ASU.
- Complete it early, even before receiving an admission decision.
- Review scholarship deadlines in the ASU Scholarship Portal, as some close before or shortly after the priority date.
- Use ASU’s FAFSA resources, including step-by-step guides and support videos.
